Blackjack

Blackjack is arguably the predominantly played casino banking game. It is also known as Twenty one. The mode of play is generally in the clockwise direction. Principles of Blackjack

The dealer consults this player in relation to the hand. The other players on the other hand play behind.

The dealer deals from their left to the right. The far left of the dealer is termed the first base while the far right of the dealer is termed the third base.

An initial hand of two cards is dealt to each box. After each player receives the initial two cards, the players are faced with four options and a fifth option to surrender if the dealer hits blackjack.

• Hit

This option indicates that the player takes another card from the dealer. The signal for this option is by scraping the cards against the playing table; waving hand to body; or tapping the table with fingers.

• Stand

This option is also referred to as stick, stand pat and stay. This means that the player no longer wants any more cards from the dealer. The player signals this by sliding cards under chips or waving hands in a horizontal manner.

• Double down

This move is taken when the player intends to increase their initial bets. The game generally allows players to increase original bet up to 100 percent. The added bet is usually placed next to the original bet in the betting box. Players playing behind are given the option to also double their bets but are usually restricted by the decision made by the player in control to take only one card.

• Split

In situations whereby the initial two cards dealt to a player has the same value, the player is allowed to split the cards into two hands. This is down by shifting a second bet similar to the first bet to a section outside the betting box.
