There are many acne treatments available in the market. For a person who suffer from pimples, choosing and using a good treatment can be quite a difficult task. There are several acne treatments but most of them do not work well. Some people end up in a cycle of using different treatments for their pimples. To get an acne free skin, it is best to choose the best treatment that will suit you the best.

Acne can be caused by hormonal changes. Acne treatment for this cause involves changing the hormonal levels in the body. It is therefore important to see your family doctor in order to ask for advice regarding acne. Hormonal changes during puberty can affect those areas which are underneath the hair follicles. These are the oil glands and they produce oil when they are stimulated.

There are a few treatments for acne that include topical and oral medications. Topical treatments include creams and lotions that contain antibiotics. Antibiotics help reduce inflammation and swelling after an acne breakout. There are also a lotion and gel that contains an antibiotic and this gel and lotion are used for both preventative as well as maintenance treatments.

Sebum is the oil that lubricates our hair follicles and the skin. When our sebum glands produce excessive oil, it can lead to acne. Acne is the common skin condition that occurs when the sebum gets trapped in clogged pores. The blocked pores give rise to the infection and inflammation.

Mild to moderate acne can be treated with topical benzoyl peroxide treatments. These products include gels, creams, lotions and cleansers. Some of these products have added moisturizers to make the skin soft and non-irritating. This gel and lotion are used in conjunction with other acne medications for maintenance and preventative treatments.

Severe acne is characterized by pimples, whiteheads and blackheads. Blackheads are formed when whiteheads die off because of bacteria. Blackheads occur when the dead skin cells of the pimple combines with the whitehead. This results in a black bump that is black, white or yellow in color.

Hormonal changes may cause acne breakouts. For teenagers, hormonal changes are one of the main reasons for acne. There are many teenagers who experience acne due to changes in their hormonal levels. Some women may also experience hormonal changes due to menopause and pregnancy.

In the case of women experiencing hormonal changes, they may find that using birth control pills or other contraceptive pills can help. These types of pills work to regulate hormones. This may help reduce inflammation and reduce the production of oil. Progesterone is a hormone that is created from estrogen and progesterone. Using birth control pills to regulate hormonal levels may help reduce nodules and cysts.

Antibiotics are another useful acne treatment option. In the case of bacterial infections, antibiotics can help reduce inflammation. Oral antibiotics are administered orally to kill the bacteria that causes pimples and cysts. Oral antibiotics are usually taken in conjunction with topical antibiotics (antifungal creams).
